Kosovans
The majority of the country of Kosovo are Albanian. Many of these Kosovans agreed with the communist government of Yugoslavia, so when the wars broke out between the two sides, Kosovo was mostly neutral until the Bosnian Civil War in which its army helped out the Serbs in order to keep the region of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Yugoslavia. In 1997 Montenegro began its independence movements from the newly renamed Serbia and Montenegro, and in 1998 Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro which resulted in the Kosovan War, in which many people died and Kosovo did not gain its independence. Kosovo finally somewhat gained its independence from the newly country Serbia in 2008.
