Serbs
The Serbs were at the front of the conflict between the other provinces of Yugoslavia that were declaring their independence from Yugoslavia itself. Once Slovenia and Croatia declared their independence from Yugoslavia, Yugoslav troops that are mainly Serb fought against the regions so they would stay apart of Yugoslavia. Many Serbs did not approve of the independence movements by the different countries, so they quarrelled with the different provinces which ultimately resulted in the demise of Yugoslavia, the formation of the 7 new countries, and turmoil in the Balkan Region.
