Bosniaks
The region of Bosnia in Yugoslavia was divided into three main culture groups the Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs. The Bosniaks were considered to minority in Bosnia, and they were caught in the middle of a conflict between the Croats and the Serbs, because the Croats wanted the country of Bosnia to become independent whereas the Serbs did not. The Bosniaks also desired independence from Serbia and they sided with the Croats throughout the horrific battles that endured. Bosnia, now called Bosnia and Herzegovina is now its own independent country, however there is still tension between Bosnian Serbs that want independence from Bosnia and the Bosnian Croats.
